INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

June 21 2018 marks a special day around the world, for two very good reasons:

Summer Solstice and International Day of Yoga (IDY) mark the date, and people around the world gather to celebrate.

Summer Solstice, also referred to as Estival Solstice or Midsummer, marks the longest day of the year (in the Southern Hemisphere).

Solstice is derived from the Latin words sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still). Its significance is recognised around the world, as different cultures celebrate different holidays, rituals and festivals.

Yoga lets people discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. Narendra Modi

Indias Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an avid yogi and successfully pledged to recognise International Yoga Day, and since 2015 it’s been officially celebrated around the world on June 21.
